Update

This Saturday, I will run against zombies in a edition of Run for your lives that will occur here in Quebec City, I will make a quick video about it, as well as a review of the event, see if it's worth it, and how to prepare yourself for this kind of race.

Subject in case

What is a zombie !

Based on different movies, games and books, as well as one super-well known TV show, zombies posess some common characteristics. Since I don’t want to create a big freaking war between zombie types (walkers vs. runners), I will explain the basics of almost every zombie.

1-    They are undead
This could be seen by some signs that are pretty common :
-       Their flesh is rotten
-       Their eyes are white, red, or at least, looks dead.
-       Their clothes are ripped
-       They still move after being shot a couple of times, elsewhere than their brains
-       They don’t seem to feel any pain
-       They still live under extreme conditions (fire, water, extreme pressure,…)
-       They don’t look like they smell so good
Come on ! Just give me a little kiss.

2-    They are agressive
Exceptions made for some zombies that have been trained, like Bob in the George Romero franchise, zombies are usually pretty agressive, with some preferences for specifics sadist assaults :
-       Bites
-       Scratch
-       Rip flesh apart
-       Eaten alive
On the plus side, they don’t tend to do those things :
-       Strangulation
-       Use of contondants objects
-       Torture
-       Poison
At least…

3-    They are contagious
Usually they use the same pattern of contagion as rage, which includes bites or scratches. It can also includes other way of contagion such as : contact with mucous membrane, exchange of blood, exchange of saliva, exchange of other kind of body fluids (I didn’t specifically said sperm, that’s just sick !), contagion because it’s in the air somehow, born from a zombie mother and born during a zombie apocalypse (mostly unexplained, but many science-fiction and horror movies seems to have a weird fascination for monstrous pregnancies).

That’s pretty much it, in the next article, I will focus on the differences between zombies (see trope : Our zombies are different).

And my conclusion :
Arrrgh Grawwl Rrrrrrrr Brrrrrrrr Sploush Brawwwww
